DIY Teacher Created Resources: Making Your Own Educational Materials with Technology Course Requirements

Completion of this course earns three (3) semesters hours of graduate credit.

Note: You will need to have Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, version 2007 or later to complete course requirements.

The course is comprised of thirty-six (36) lessons to be completed in sequence and completion of a final project portfolio.

Each lesson includes a video and an assigned activity to give practice with some of the skills demonstrated in the video.  The completed activity will be uploaded for grading.

The final project for this course is to create a portfolio of a combination of up to 24 pages in Word and/or slides in PowerPoint.  Each page/slide created is worth 3 points. The number of pages/slides in your final portfolio project will help determine your grade for this course:

Pass = minimum 6 pages/slides (18 points)
C = 6 -11 pages/slides (18-33 points)
B = 12-17 pages/slides (36-51 points)
A = 18-24 pages/slides (54-72 points)

Requirements for passing the course or a letter grade is based on points earned for participant in lessons, completion of lesson assignments, and completion of the final project.

The total possible points = 180

Course Participation = 36 Points (1 point for each lesson)
Lesson Assignments = 72 points (3 points for each lesson)
Final Project = 72 points

Points earned will be divided by the total for a percentage to determine the final grade for the course:

A = 90%-100%   162-180 total points
B = 80%-89%     144-161 total points
C = 70%-79%     126-143 total points
D = 60%-69%     108-125 total points
F = 0%-59%        0-107 points

Pass/Fail:           At least 126 points; participate in all lessons, complete all assignments and complete final Portfolio project with a minimum of 6 pages

Set aside 36-42 hours to complete all of the lessons, assignments, and final project for this course.  All of the work must be completed by the final deadline to get your three semester hours of credit.

AS a bonus, you will have access to this course website and videos for one full year after your registration date so that you can stop back to review skills as needed.
